Save Time with the Snipping Tool

The Windows 7 Snipping Tool is a very hand tool that lets you quickly capture pretty much anything on your screen.  Using your mouse you can snip a whole window, a full screen, a rectangular shape or use the free form option and draw round what you're trying to capture.

Once snipped you can then annotate, copy, save or email the image all from within the Snipping Tool application window.

If you want to quickly send an error message to IT support, capture all or part of a webpage or document then use the snipping tool. It's so much quicker and more useful than using the Print Screen option on your keyboard.

Using the Snipping Tool

  - Click on the Windows Start button on the bottom left hand side of your screen

  - Type Snipping Tool in the search box

  - Press Enter on your keyboard and the Snipping Tool will appear

  - Your screen will go slighty white when the snipping tool is active and waiting for you to start snipping

  - Start snipping or click on the arrow beside the New button to choose another snip type

  - Use your mouse to select what you want to capture

  - Your captured area will appear in the Snipping Tool window where you can draw on it, save it, email it or copy it
